There are a few resources your team will find helpful when looking at shifts.
Roster Report - HotSchedules
A good approach would start with a daily morning printout of your Roster Report.
This report gives you a daily breakdown of the in/out times for 1 or all of your schedules. You can also elect to view the actual times, but HotSchedules will not be real-time.
This is why we suggest to have managers use this report while viewing the Toast timesheets for the best view of everything.
This will allow you to catch:
- People who clocked in but forgot to clock out.
- People who forgot to clock in.
- People who may have been clocked in under a different job code with manager approval (by accident).
- You can add an OT Warning option as well, which shows you actual hours/when OT will start for employees during the week.
Here is an example of the report as I set it up.
Time Entry Management Report - Toast
With your printed (or webpage) roster report, you can compare against the Time Entry Management report in Toast.
You can find it under Employees -> Timesheet Management
My method involves clicking into "Columns" and adding Scheduled Time In, Scheduled Time Out.
Then you can click the "Scheduled Time In" header to sort by the earliest scheduled employee.
