STEP 1 - Change the job code on the sale. This will override the employee's job worked that day, in effect changing which tip distribution rules are used.
Once that check is in TipHaus,
- Go into Reporting -> Sales -> Click Actions dropdown to choose Batch Job Code Assignment.
- On the pop up screen, search for the Banquet Server job code.
- Then use the checkboxes to select which sales you want to assign this job code.
- Now you will see this - which means that the check/sale will now follow tip rules for Banquet Server instead of whatever job the person worked.
STEP 2 - Team up the check
- Go into Reporting -> Sales -> Click Actions dropdown to choose Custom Team Adjustment.
- Then select the sale(s) we just updated the job code for.
- Add all of the servers + bartenders who worked the banquet.
- Set up the points as you have communicated to the staff.
- example 1 - even split? everyone gets 1 point.
- example 2 - based on hours worked? make the hours worked = number of points
- screenshot below shows an example where you set up points based on hours worked
- Make sure Enable standard tip sharing rules on selected sale(s) is enabled.
RESULTS
- No employee will have to be scheduled differently or clock into HotSchedules under a different job code.
- The banquet check will follow a different set of rules, which will now properly allow bartenders and barbacks to participate in tip outs.
- Add all Servers and Bartenders to the custom team adjustment.
- After the tip is split, each of the servers/bartenders will tip out:
- Banquet to Runner = 18%
- Banquet to Busser = 17%
- Banquet to Barback = 17%
***THE ABOVE RULES CAN STILL BE ADJUSTED AS YOU SEE FIT.
