How to adjust a sale to be in the AM/PM shift

Created by James Perry, Modified on Mon, 17 Mar at 10:25 AM by James Perry

In situations where you have an AM check close in the PM shift in TipHaus, it can cause an incorrect tip distribution to take place.  For example, an AM bartender closing a sale at 4:30pm which causes them to have to tip out a PM barback.

In these cases, here is how you can resolve this issue:

  • If this happens frequently, we can look at adjusting the actual shift times on the AM/PM rules.  For example, if checks are consistently being closed after 4:00pm cutoff, we can update this to be 4:30pm.

  • If this doesn't happen often, you can adjust the sale of the check in TipHaus!
    • This doesn't sync with the POS at all - it's only meant to have the sales/tips of the individual sale fall into the correct set of rules.
    • Click into Reporting, then filter by the Date and Employee you want to change.
    • By default, it will sort by Sale Closed time.  Find the sale you want to adjust the time on.
    • On the far right-hand side, click the Edit button.
    • Adjust the Sale Open or Sale Closed time as needed to ensure it falls into the right shift rules.

Once you do this, make sure to go back to the Breakdown Page and press the Sync button again.
