Say you are utilizing Banquet Servers in the POS to ring in an event or buyout, and there are numerous employees working said event. To reconcile your banquet sales and ensure the employees working the function get tipped out, you can do the following:
Create Custom Job Code in TipHaus:
- Settings -> Location -> Job Codes
- Under the Actions drop-down, select "Create A Custom Job Code"
- Enter the name of your Banquet Job Code (in this example, I'll name it Ghost Banquet Zaytinya Drawer
- If Standard Tip Sharing Rules also apply, then enable that option. (Are Servers tipping out all runners or are runners assigned to the team?)
Assign the Custom Job Code to the POS Employee
- Employees Tab -> Find the Banquet Server among all the Oracle employees listed. Mine is Zaytinya Banquet Server #1
- Click the + sign under the Job Code Assignment tab, and assign it this new Custom Job Code
(Optional) If Tip Distribution Rules are different for Banquets, create Tip Share rules accordingly using the Custom Job Code.
When the time comes to split up the tips at the end of the night,
- Find your sale by pulling up the server or job code.
- Under the Actions drop-down, select "Customize Team"
- Select the Tip Types
- Select all of the employees who are part of that team.
- Update the distribution points with 1 of several strategies:
- 50/50? This should populate evenly by default.
- Points based system
- You can make it a % based breakdown by using something like 80 / 20 points.
- Or you can type in the exact amounts you want to distribute so the total points equals the total tip.
- Click Next, then enable the tip sharing rules if needed
- This means that the banquet server first distributes the tip like a server would. IE 2% to all bussers/runners first.
- THEN the leftover amounts are split using whatever distribution rules you applied previously.
After finishing the team up function, you have done it correctly if the Banquet Server login has a take home pay of 0.00.
THIS IS INTENDED. You want those tips to be 100% distributed to the staff and not live under the Banquet login.
